On 8 June 2020, our project partner Ynternet.org organised a webinar “Online Opportunities, Algorithms, and Employability” for their partners in Switzerland. This event involved not only the group of six ambassadors, but it was opened to the community, and an online invitation was published in Ynternet.org’s social network channels. At the end, c.20 people joined the webinar.
Through group discussions, the webinar presented different topics around online entrepreneurship, such as how to be an online entrepreneur, how internet can help share new products or ideas and how we can use the internet to find funds. Also, the impact of algorithms in the job recruitment process was discussed and tips and advice were shared. Participants were particularly engaged in the discussions about e-portfolios and new formats for CVs.
Initially, this activity was planned for the end of the pilot phase, after the activities in Malta and Berlin, but because of the pandemic, the international pilot activities were cancelled. Ynternet.org team decided to run the webinar sooner as a way to keep their ambassadors motivated and engaged in the ICT4Elderly project.
